Main Map Display

This area displays the map layers you have chosen in the Layers frame. Be sure to click on the "Refresh Map" button at the top of the Layers frame, to redraw the map. It make take a few seconds for the map to display, as the server responds to your request for a new map. Some of the datasets are large and may take a few moments to display.

If you do not get a map to display at all after a reasonable period, try the following:

Make sure you have the correct version of Internet Explorer (Version 5, 5.5 or 6) or Netscape version 6. Use the links on the main Coal Bed Mapping page to download the necessary versions (they are free!). We regret that no other browsers are compatible with the Internet Map Server software at this time.

Also Java and Javascript must be enabled to view the maps. Check under "Edit, Preferences, Advanced" in Netscape, or under "Tools, Internet Options, Security" in Internet Explorer to enable scripting.

It is also recommended that your screen resolution be set at 1024 X 768 and your browser window is maximized for optimal viewing of the maps.

If you are still experiencing problems getting the maps to display, please let us know and we will try our best to help you out!
